Vietnam Money market – Febuary 2026 – Overnight interbank rate eased by end-Feb

The overnight interbank rate soared to 17.25% at the start of February due to seasonal factors, but eased back to 2.5% by late February.

By end-Feb, the average 12-month deposit rate of commercial banks edged up slightly by 9 basis points from the end of January to 5.9%.

Exchange rate pressures edged up slightly in Feb amid a strengthened USD. By the end of February, the interbank exchange rate increased 0.4% from endJanuary to 26,058 VND/USD (-0.8% ytd).
